Sept. 19, 2005

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. BYU senior forward Jaime Rendich Beck and BYU freshman defender Jessica Harmon have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Rendich Beck, from Canyon County, Calif., tallied two goals and two assists to lift the Cougars to a 3-0 mark for the week, including victories over two ranked opponents. She scored the game's only goal in a win vs. No. 22 Texas and knocked home the deciding goal in the second overtime to defeat No. 14 Wisconsin, 2-1, on the road. Rendich Beck also assisted on both goals in a 2-0 win vs. Colgate.

Harmon, a Provo, Utah, native, led a Cougar defense that allowed only one goal last week (at No. 14 Wisconsin), also the only goal allowed this season. She assisted on Rendich Beck's game-winning goal vs. the Badgers. BYU is 8-0 on the year--the best since an 11-0 start in 1997.
