COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah sophomore forward Julie Herdic has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week after collecting the first MWC hat trick of the season and of her career in No. 23 Utah's 4-1 victory over Idaho State.

Herdic, a Peachtree, Ga., native, knocked in the first two goals of the match, the first on an unassisted strike in the first minute of the contest and the second on an assist from Katie Battazzo in the 30th minute giving the Utes a 2-0 advantage. She concluded the scoring for the Utes in the 80th minute on a break away goal with the assist coming from Shauna Gurr-Bingham. On the season, Herdic leads Utah and is second in the MWC in points (nine) and goals (four).
