COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three more matches against top-25 competition highlights the MWC non-conference schedule this week. After BYU's 1-0 victory over No. 16 Tennessee last week, Mountain West institutions are 2-2-1 against ranked opponents this season. Wyoming starts off this week's slate by hosting No. 16 Colorado Tues., Sept. 9 at 4 p.m., while the Cougars will travel to Lexington, Ky. to face No. 14 Kentucky in the Kentucky Invitational on Fri., Sept. 12. New Mexico will also play host to the 16th-ranked Buffaloes on Sun., Sept. 14 at noon. Other notable matches on the schedule are Air Force vs. Drake, Wyoming at Mississippi, San Diego State vs. Florida State and UNLV vs. Auburn. The MWC is 15-9-2 against non-league competition this season.

MWC Quick Hits

Air Force

* Air Force's 3-1 start this season is its best since joining Division I in 1996.

* Sophomore forward Raegan McDowell scored the game-winning goal in AFA's 1-0 win over Army. The Falcons have now beaten Army in two of the last three seasons.

* AFA finished second in last weekend's Toys for Tots/Military Academies Classic in St. Louis, Mo. Senior goalkeeper J.J. Wolf, junior forward Jennifer Ford and Raegan McDowell were named to the all-tournament team.

BYU

* For the second straight week, BYU broke its home attendance record with 2,758 people attending the 1-0 victory over No. 16 Tennessee at South Stadium.

* The Cougars have only lost one match in their last 16 outings dating back to last season.

* BYU has three straight shutouts in three matches this season, two of which are against ranked opponents.

New Mexico

* Junior goalkeeper Kristen Winters is third in the MWC in saves per game with 6.67.

San Diego State

* SDSU did not allow a shot on goal in its 2-0 win over Long Beach State.

It was the first time since a 5-0 victory over Cincinnati on Sept. 12, 1999 that the Aztecs held an opponent to no shots on goal.

UNLV

* Junior forward/midfielder Annii Magliulo leads the Mountain West in points (10), points per game (2.00) and shots (17).

Utah

* Utah is 1-1 against NSCAA top-25 teams this season. The Utes defeated No. 17 Michigan, 4-1, at Ute Field on Aug. 31, before losing to sixth-ranked Texas A&M, 1-0, last weekend.

* Freshman goalkeeper Ashley Mason has only given up two goals in 225 minutes this season. On the season, she has made 11 saves and has a goals against average of 0.80.

* The 1-0 loss to Texas A&M was the first time the Utes have been shutout this season. In its other three matches, Utah has scored at least three goals, including a season-high four against then-No. 17 Michigan.

Wyoming

* After three matches, the Cowgirls have a record of 2-1. Last season Wyoming didn't post its second victory until the seventh match of the season.

* Wyoming's 2-1 win over Alabama marks the first time in school history that a Cowgirl team beat a team from the SEC.

* Wyoming's match against No. 16 Colorado on Tuesday, Sept. 9 is the final game of a four game homestand.
