COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah junior forward Lauren Field and Wyoming junior forward Mari Gomes have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week, while BYU freshman defender Claire Thomas has been named Defensive Player of the Week. This is the first weekly honor for all three recipients.

Field, a High Point, N.C., product, collected a hat trick off of seven shots in the Utes 3-2 overtime victory over Baylor on Sunday. She scored her first goal in the 13th minute of the match (assisted by Amanda Feigt) to put Utah up, 1-0. Field again found the net on an unassisted shot from 40 yards out in the 76th minute to tie the score at two apiece and send the match into overtime. With 1:54 left in the first extra period, she headed in the game-winner off a corner kick from Missy Dennis to secure the victory for Utah.

Gomes, a San Jose, Calif., native, came off the bench to score both of Wyoming's goals in its 2-1 victory over Alabama. She gave the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 30th minute, then put the match away in the 40th minute with her second goal of the opening half on an unassisted strike. The win over the Crimson Tide was the first over a school from the SEC in Wyoming's eight year history. Prior to her two goal performance, Gomes had four career goals as a Cowgirl.

Thomas helped BYU's defense shut down No. 16 Tennessee for its third shutout in three matches this season. The Poway, Calif., native, played sweeper against the Volunteers and held their top three players, Preseason All-American Keeley Dowling, Canadian National Team member Rhian Wilkinson and Lyndsey Patterson (the team's leading scorer) to just one shot apiece and was responsible for clearing several Volunteer shots on goal throughout the match. Tennessee was held scoreless for the first time this season.
