COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV freshman forward Jessica Destito and junior goalkeeper Jenna Huff have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. Destito, a Las Vegas, Nev., native, helped lead the Rebels to a 2-0 record at the UNLV Fila Classic last weekend, scoring two game-winning goals and assisting on another on the way to being named the Tournament MVP. With five minutes left in double overtime and the score knotted at 0-0, Destito dribbled past two defenders and knocked in her first career collegiate goal, giving the Rebels the 1-0 victory over Northern Arizona. She followed by scoring the opening goal in the seventh minute and assisting on the final goal in UNLV's 3-0 win over Montana on Sunday. Huff, from Huntington Beach, Calif., collected two shutouts, while tallying 12 saves in 195 minutes at the UNLV Fila Classic. She saved seven shots, including a breakaway attempt in double overtime, in the Rebels 1-0 win over Northern Arizona. Huff notched her UNLV school record 13th career shutout in the 3-0 victory over Montana, saving five shots in the process.
