Colorado College 3, Wyoming 0
Cowgirls Fall 3-0 at Home to Colorado College LARAMIE, Wyo. The University of Wyoming Cowgirl Soccer team (2-3-0 overall), fell 3-0 to the Colorado College Tigers (2-1-0 overall), on Thursday in Laramie."To give up the early goal is a problem for us, but to give up the second one before half I knew we really had an uphill battle," said Cowgirl head coach Danny Sanchez. "Give Colorado College the credit, they were the better team today." The Cowgirls fell behind to the Tigers quickly in the game, as CC scored its first goal in the third minute. Colorado College's Tiffany Brown passed the ball across the Cowgirl penalty area and teammate Brittney Lyman kicked the ball in the upper left corner passed Cowgirl goalkeeper Courtney Merkle. Wyoming attempted to answer the Tigers early goal with a chance of its own just six minutes later. Cowgirl Nahiomy Ortiz took a shot just outside the CC penalty area that sailed just high hitting the crossbar of the Tigers goal. The Ortiz shot was Wyoming's best chance to score before the Tigers extended their lead. In the 31st minute CC's Madison Whitehead passed the ball to Hannah Peterson who kicked it low into the corner of the UW goal past keeper Merkle. The Peterson goal made the score 2-0 in favor of the Tigers, which held to the end of the first half. [READ MORE]
