After the opening week of the 2004 season, 24th-ranked Utah, Wyoming, UNLV, New Mexico and Air Force are tied for the top spot in the MWC with 1-1 records. The Utes, Rebels and Cowgirls will be at home hosting tournaments as a part of this week's non-conference schedule. Utah welcomes San Francisco and Oregon to Salt Lake City for the Utah Fall Classic and UNLV hosts Northern Arizona and Montana at the UNLV Fila Classic, while Wyoming takes on Vermont and Delaware in the Brown and Gold Tournament. Other notable matches include BYU vs. No. 16 Arizona State at South Stadium, Idaho at Air Force, Texas Tech at New Mexico and Navy at San Diego State.
