COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU junior forward Lizzy Karoly and sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Walters have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Karoly, a native of Escondido, Calif., netted two goals and an assist in a 5-0 win vs. Stephen F. Austin in the Horned Frogs' season opener. Last year, TCU began its 2007 campaign with a 0-0 tie to the Ladyjacks. Karoly led the MWC in points over the weekend and became the first Horned Frog under head coach Dan Abdalla to score two goals in a season opener.

Walters, an Oklahoma City, Okla., native, shut out Stephen F. Austin in a 5-0 win. She played all 90 minutes against the 2007 NCAA Tournament participant and made six saves, while posting the fourth shutout of her career.
