Larkin Named to Hermann Trophy Watch List

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the second consecutive season, BYU two-time All-American forward Katie Larkin has been named to the 2008 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy Watch List.

Larkin and the Cougars are the reigning Mountain West Conference Tournament Champions and have been picked as the preseason favorite to win the league in 2008.

In 2007, Larkin led the Cougars in goals scored (15), assists (5) and shots (72). She was named to the 2007 NSCAA/adidas All-America Third Team and the All- West Region First Team. SoccerBuzz also selected Larkin to its All-America Third Team and West Region Team.

The Hermann Trophy is NCAA soccer's equivalent to football's Heisman Trophy, and recognizes the best overall player in the sport at the collegiate level. Recipients of the Hermann Trophy are selected by Division I head coaches who are current members of the NSCAA. The committee will select 15 semifinalists in November, and then announce three finalists during the NCAA Tournament in early December.
