ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - University of New Mexico head women's soccer coach Kit Vela and her staff have announced the dates for the Lobo Women's Soccer Academy this summer. Coach Vela and her staff have put together camps from every skill level and help young athletes learn the techniques of a Division I program. New to the Academy this summer is the addition of the Lobo Women's Soccer Goalkeeper Academy. Taught by assistant coach Jorge Vela each camp will feature helpful instruction for current and future net minders. All programs will take place on the home training facilities of the Lobo women's soccer team, Robertson Field. This years camps offered at a discounted price.

The Mini Lobo Camp and Junior Lobo Camp will take place July 8-11 and July 27-30 respectively from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The Mini Lobo camp is for campers 5-7 years and will consist of basic soccer skills. The Junior Lobo Camp is for ages 8-9 and will also focus on basic skill as well as transitioning to the next level of play. Both the Mini and Junior Lobo Camps are designed with two primary goals; to learn and to have fun. A sack lunch is required for both camps.

The Top Level College Preparatory Camp will take place on July 8-12 and is for athletes ages 10-18. This camp is designed for current high school players who are preparing for college. It will be high intensity and training sessions will be based on the skills and tactis necessary to play at the collegiate next level. Lunch and dinner will be provided for all participants and breakfast will be provided only for the residential campers.

The High School Preparatory Camp will take place on July 27-30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m each day. The camp is for current high school players who are preparing for their upcoming season. The camp will consist of individual skill, tactical training, scrimmages and fitness. It is also a stepping stone for the college preparatory camp. A sack lunch is required for this camp.

 

 

The College Preparatory Camp is from Aug. 3-6. This is a college preparatory camp designed for those players who have exhausted their high school eligibility and are preparing for their college seasons.
