COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Ten University of Utah soccer players have been named 2008-09 Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athletes, the league announced Wednesday. The Scholar-Athlete award is the highest academic honor given by the MWC.

To be eligible for the MWC Scholar-Athlete Award, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.

The Scholar-Athlete award was bestowed upon Erin Dalley (Redshirt freshman, 3.59, Business), Lauren Dudley (Freshman, 3.89, Business), Amy Edman (Senior, 3.88, Nursing), Lauren Hair (Sophomore, 3.65, Human Development and Family Studies), Shaylyn Kennedy (Freshman, 3.54, Undeclared), Lauren Porter (Freshman, 3.92, Undeclared), Katy Reineke (Senior, 3.58, Economics), Emalee Rogers (Junior, 3.70, Exercise Sport Science) and Danielle Sample (Senior, 3.93, Anthropology).

Dalley, Hair, Rogers and Sample are all multiple-year honorees.
