PROVO, Utah - For the second time in her career, senior All-American Aleisha Rose has been named a Soccer America MVP after leading the Cougars to their best finish in the NCAA Tournament.

Rose, who was also named an MVP by the national publication in 2001, was one of 11 collegiate athletes in the country to be given the honor.

"Aleisha has had a tremendous career as a player here at BYU," said BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood, "As a coach I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with someone as talented and special as Aleisha."

On the season, Rose tallied 25 points with six goals and a Mountain West Conference high 13 assists. She also led the Cougars to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history and a No. 14 final national ranking.

In December, Rose who was dubbed "college soccer's top holding midfielder" by Soccer America, was named an NSCAA/adidas All-American for the fourth time in her career.
