PROVO, Utah - In semifinal action at the Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Championship, the third-seeded New Mexico Lobos upset the second-seeded Utah Utes, 1-0. New Mexico will advance to play the winner of the BYU/San Diego State game in the final at noon on Saturday at South Field.

New Mexico scored with just under 20 minutes left in the second half with an unassisted goal by Second-Team All-MWC performer Marte Dolva, her second goal of the tournament. Dolva stole an errant pass by the Utes and took advantage of goalkeeper Courtney Hills-McBeth being out of the box and lobbed the ball just over her head.

Utah had two good scoring opportunities in the waning minutes, but First-Team All-MWC goalie Kristen Winters sealed the upset with two key saves.

New Mexico played their second physical match in as many days with Utah committing 15 fouls and the Lobos 14. Utah out shot New Mexico 16-5.

The Utes finished the season with a 12-3-3 record while the Lobos improve to 12-7-1.
