New Mexico Beats Air Force 1-0 in MWC First Round

Lobos make first half goal by Dolva stand up.

PROVO, Utah - In the second game of the opening day of the Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Championship, the third-seeded New Mexico Lobos defeated the sixth-seeded Air Force Falcons 1-0. New Mexico will advance to play Utah tomorrow at 4:30 p.m on South Field.

New Mexico scored in the 18th minute of action with a sliding goal by Second-team All-MWC Marte Dolva just over the outstretched arms of Air Force goalie J. J. Wolf. LeAnne Hendren was credited with the assist giving the cross from the right side of the field.

In the physical match, Air Force finished with 15 fouls to New Mexico's 11. The Lobos out shot the Falcons 14-5.

The Falcons finished the season with a 7-12-0 record while the Lobos improve to 11-7-1.
