SALT LAKE CITY - Adele Letro and Chelsea Card scored first-half goals and Ashley Mason recorded the team's seventh shutout as Utah defeated Wyoming 2-0 on Thursday night at Ute Field.

Utah picked up its third consecutive win to improve to 10-5 overall and 3-0 in Mountain West Conference play. Wyoming fell to 5-5-3 on the season and 1-2 in league games.

The Utes scored two goals in the first 33 minutes to take control of the game. Katy Reineke and Amanda Feigt set up Letro to open the scoring in the 19th minute. Letro found an opening in the middle of the penalty box and took the shot from 10 yards out, placing it in the lower left side of the frame for her seventh goal of the season.

Utah scored for the second time in the 33rd minute. Reineke had her shot blocked, setting up her own corner kick from the right side. After the corner was initially knocked out of harm's way, Reineke came in to take another shot that was saved but not controlled by Cowgirl keeper Ashley Sheppard. Card pounced on the rebound punched it in the sophomore forward's first goal of the season.

Mason made four saves for the Utes, getting her sixth complete-game shutout. Perhaps her biggest stop came in the 18th minute, right before the Utes got on the board, on an excellent a shot by Wyoming's Tamika Wilson.

Both teams got off eight shots in the second half after Utah had a 9-5 edge in the first 45 minutes. The Utes finished with 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

In addition to allowing the two goals, Sheppard also made five saves. Wyoming was whistled for five fouls to Utah's four.

Utah closes out its home schedule against Air Force on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Utes will celebrate their first-ever Alumni Reunion Day. Several Ute soccer alums will be recognized and join the 2005 team in signing autographs after the game.
