ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.---The University of New Mexico women's soccer team defeated UNLV 1-0 on Saturday night at the UNM Soccer Complex. The Lobos improved to 7-4-3 on the season and 1-0-1 in MW action.

In the 10th minute, senior Jennifer Williams received a pass from Natalie Jenks on the left side of the box and beat the keeper, placing the ball in the right corner of the net.

The Lobos out-shot UNLV 11-2 in the first half, 14-3 throughout the match. Goalkeeper Kelli Cornell was credited with 2 saves as the Rebels struggled to develop an offensive rhythm. New Mexico tallied 5 shots on goal in the game.

New Mexico is currently in a five game unbeaten streak after defeating UC Riverside, Oklahoma, New Mexico State, UNLV and tying San Diego State.

UNM hosts Wyoming on Friday night at 5 p.m.
