The Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team was out-shot for just the second time this season as they lost a tough match to the Buffaloes of Colorado 2-0 Tuesday evening in Laramie. Wyoming falls to 4-4-0 while CU improved to 3-2-3.

"We have to do a better job of defending our goal," UW head coach Anne Moore said. "We left the middle open and it cost us two goals today."

Wyoming committed seven fouls in the first half, one of which resulted in a penalty kick for the Buffs. Junior Alex Cousins scored her first goal of the season off of the PK to give Colorado the 1-0 lead.

Colorado added their second goal midway through the second half off of a corner kick by senior Allison Kidd. Junior Gianna DeSavario was waiting in the box to put the ball in the back of the net for the final goal of the game and the eventual win.

"I felt like we played kind of tired today," Moore continued. I think in some aspects of the game we beat ourselves and we didn't take care of the ball. I give us credit because I think we battled them, but in the end, we cannot give them as good of looks as we did."

Sophomore Emma Wilson was the only Cowgirl to have more than one shot today for Wyoming with four.

Wyoming will head to the California for the weekend to take on UC Riverside Friday, September 28 at 4 p.m., and then on Sunday the Cowgirls will face Long Beach State at 12 p.m.
