Air Force Women's Soccer Ties IUPUI, 2-2, At Crusader Classic Murphy and Patterson score second-half goals for Falcons.

VALPARAISO, Ind. - Air Force women's soccer rallied to tie IUPUI, 2-2, Friday afternoon in opening day action at the Crusader Classic at Eastgate Field. The draw puts the Falcons at 4-5-1 on the season, while the Jaguars moved to 1-5-3. Air Force got a pair of second-half goals to erase 1-0 and 2-1 deficits. Senior Bridgett Murphy tied the game up at 1-1 with a goal in the 52nd minute. Junior Stephanie Patterson returned to the lineup after missing last weekend's games due to injury and tied the game up with a score in the 74th minute, just one minute after IUPUI had taken a 2-1 lead. IUPUI scored the first goal of the match in the 38th minute by way of Megan Hock. Murphy then scored her second goal of the season off a pass from Meagan Eissele to tie it up. Taylor Heidorn then scored in the 73rd minute to put the Jaguars back up. Freshman Hannah Schwartz recorded five saves in goal for AFA. The Falcons had 13 shots on the night. Murphy led way with seven shots, four on goal. Air Force returns to action Sunday, Sept. 25, taking on tournament host Valparaiso.
