LAS VEGAS - For the third time in the last four games, UNLV's women's soccer game ended in a tie as the Rebels and Long Beach State played to a 1-1 double-overtime score in the final game of the UNLV adidas Classic on Sunday afternoon from Peter Johann Memorial Field. The first game of the day also went into extra time, with Fresno State scoring 44 seconds into the first overtime period to claim a 3-2 win over Sam Houston State.

The Rebels were the first on the scoreboard, as from the right side Armani Rice sent a cross into the box that found Tanya Roberts, and her shot to the left post from seven yards out gave UNLV (3-2-3) a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute.

Long Beach State (5-1-1) answered back in the second half when Julie Megorden's corner kick was headed in just over UNLV goalkeeper Ciera Nero's hands for the tying score in the 61st minute.

Neither team would find the back of the net the rest of the game, though the 49ers did hold a 6-1 edge in shots in the two overtime periods, and a 15-6 edge for the game. Nero posted five saves in goal for the Rebels, while Liz Ramos finished with four saves and one goal allowed for Long Beach State.

In the first game, Kortney Lewis scored twice, including the game-winner at the 90:44 mark to lead Fresno State (3-5) over Sam Houston State (0-7). Her first goal came in the 7th minute, but Sam Houston answered back in the 52nd minute on a score from Yoanna Garcia. The Bulldogs quickly took the lead back, 2-1 on Koleen Anderson's score on a shot off a cross in the 56th minute, but again Sam Houston tied it, this time on a long bomb shot from 40 yards out by Kim Brown that just fell in over the goalie's head. The game would remained tied at 2-2, until Cortney Sobrero attacked down the left side, before sliding a pass over to Lewis who tapped in the ball for the score and the win.

UNLV returns to action this weekend, as the Rebels will play a pair of road games at Pepperdine in Malibu, Calif. On Friday at 3 pm, before taking on UC Irvine in Irvine, Calif., at 1 pm on Sunday.
