Women's Soccer Falls to No. 21 Oregon State
Lobos to play Washington on Sunday at Noon

PORTLAND, Ore.---The New Mexico women's soccer team fell to No. 21 Oregon State, 2-1, in the first game of the 2011 Nike Invitational hosted by the University of Portland.
Within moments of kickoff, Oregon State midfielder Ashley Folsom headed a ball into the back of the net off a Beavers corner kick at 1:04.
At the 36:38 minute mark, OSU once again managed to slip a ball past Lobo keeper Kelli Cornell as Jenna Richardson bent a ball into the right side of the goal from 15 yards out.
New Mexico countered with an offensive attack to finish the first half, scoring as Lobo defender Brianna Webster headed the ball into the right corner of the net as Rachel Montoya crossed a free kick into the box. The Lobos entered the locker room after 45 minutes of action down, 2-1.
Neither team managed to score during the second half, resulting in a final score of 2-1, Oregon State.
UNM ended the game with 9 shots, to 7 from Oregon State. Senior Jennifer Williams paced the squad with four shots, one of which came on goal. The Beaver goalkeeper finished the game with two saves, while New Mexico's Kelli Cornell had one.
The Lobos will face Washington on Sunday at 12 p.m. in their final game of the Nike Invitational.
