Rebels Defeat Nevada, Reno, 2-1
Team snaps a four-game scoreless streak with Sunday's win over Wolf Pack.

RENO, Nev. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's soccer team snapped a four-game scoreless streak on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 victory at Nevada, Reno, in the final game of the Wolf Pack Invitational at Mackay Stadium. UNLV improved to 2-3-1 with the win, while UNR dropped to 1-5 on the season.
UNR's Abieyuwa Ogiamien scored the first goal of the game, as she headed in a cross from Annabelle Allen in the 13th minute for a 1-0 lead for the host squad. The Rebels would tie the score in the 19th minute thanks to freshman Denali Murnan's first career score, as she also scored on a header, this time off a pass from Courtney Botelho into the top right corner of the goal.
After holding a 6-4 edge on shots in the first half, UNLV doubled its advantage in the second half, 8-4, and would score on one of those shots in the 53rd minute. Botelho again assisted on the goal, as she sent a pass into the box to Jenn Wolfe, who scored from five yards out for her second goal of the year, putting the Rebels up 2-1.
UNLV finished the game with a 14-8 advantage on shots, and 8-5 on shots on goal. Kylie Wassell posted four saves in goal for the Rebels, while Dana Moreno finished the day with six saves and two goals allowed.
UNLV will return to action on Friday, Sept. 9, at Pacific at 7 p.m.
