DENVER, Colo. - The Air Force women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 match to Denver Sunday afternoon at the Denver Tournament at Pioneer soccer field. The Falcons fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Pioneers improved to 1-1.

Denver jumped ahead with a pair of goals in the first period. Jenna Billingsley scored in the 22nd minute off a free kick from the outside left corner and Brooke Lamphere scored in the 26th minute.

Air Force made it a 2-1 game with a goal in the 43rd minute by junior Roni Yadlin. But Lizzy Carlson scored in the 64th minute to put the Pioneers ahead 3-1.

The Falcons used two goalkeepers in the game. Freshman Elizabeth Smith got the start, recording three saves in the first period. Junior Erin Wallace played the second period, recording one save.

Air Force had six shots in the game, five on goal. Denver took 13 shots, seven on goal.

The Falcons have a busy week ahead, as they host three matches in five days. Air Force plays Northern Colorado this Wednesday, Sept. 5 beginning at 7p.m.
