ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Head coach Jackie Booth announced the signing of Ashley Rollins to a national letter of intent to play women's golf for the Lobos during the 2003-04 season. Rollins, from Austin, Texas, plays for Westwood High School.

Rollins has an extensive background in junior golf and recently was the winner of the American Junior Golf Association Southwestern and Osso Oak Tree tournaments.

She was named to the Girls Polo Golf Junior All-America second team and shot a course record 65 en route to winning her district championship. Rollins won nine of 10 high school events last year and finished second in the Texas State Championships - her lowest finish as a participant.

"Ashley Rollins is the caliber of player that will immediately make an impact on the teams success next fall," said Booth. "We're excited to have her join the Lobos."

Rollins will graduate in 2003 from Westwood HS while maintaining a 3.89 grade point average.
