COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - New Mexico sophomore Kailin Downs was named Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for October after shooting a total of 671 over nine rounds of play for a 74.6 stroke average. Downs best performance of the month came at the Rainbow Fall Golf Classic in Honolulu, Hawai`i Oct. 30-31, as she helped the Lobos to their second tournament title of the year. She fired a UNM individual best 220 (74-77-69) to place second out of 101 golfers. Downs recorded a career-low round with her final round 69 and finished in the top-10 for the second time in four tournaments this fall. She currently ranks third in the MWC with a 74.4 stroke average on the season.
