COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - New Mexico senior Claudia Ferrini was named Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month after opening the season with a career best performance at the Dick McGuire Invitational Sept. 13-15. Ferrini helped the Lobos to the team title after finishing third out of 48 competitors with a three-round three-under 216 (71-69-76). She shot a career low 69 during the second round and set a new course record with her 36-hole total of 140.

Ferrini currently lead the MWC with a 72.0 stroke average on the season.
