ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Fresh off their Dick McGuire Invitational title, the University of New Mexico women's golf team climbed into sixth place nationally from their preseason ranking of No. 26 in the latest GolfWeek Poll released yesterday.

In individual rankings four Lobos are ranked in the top-100 including sophomore Kailin Downs who ranks the highest at No. 19. Sophomore Shannon Johnson follows at No. 47, junior Katrina Leckovic is No. 53 and sophomore Christina Spence is ranked No. 65.

New Mexico captured their second McGuire title this past week on the UNM Championship Course. The Lobos will travel down I-40 to Las Cruces to participate in the NMSU Women's Golf Intercollegiate, Oct. 7-9 at the NMSU Golf Course.
