Sept. 30, 2009

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - New Mexico senior Jodi Ewart has been selected the Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for September.

Ewart, a Middleham, North Yorkshire, England, native, finished second in two tournaments during the month of September. She started 2009 with a school-record 11-under-par 298 (69-71-68) at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational (par 73 - 6,187 yards) on Sept. 19-20. The 11-under par broke the 23-year-old school record of 10-under set by Caroline Keggi in 1986. Ewart's 208 total is also a Lobo record for 54 holes, breaking Ryley Webb's 209 at the 2001 MWC Championships.

The three-time MWC Player of the Year also finished second at the Ptarmigan Fall Ram Classic, carding a seven-under 209 (72-69-68). She tied her career-low with a 68 in the final round on the par 72, 6,250 yard course.

Ewart currently ranks first in the MWC for stroke average (69.50) and is ranked No. 8 nationally by Golfweek.
