July 12, 2005

Fort Collins, Colo. - Head Coach Angie Hopkins has announced Colorado State's women's golf schedule for the 2005-06 season. The Rams will open play on September 12-13 when they host the Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic at Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins. CSU will then compete in four more tournaments in the fall followed by a spring schedule consisting of five events prior to the NCAA Regional Championships in May.

The Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic will feature 18 teams including regional foes such as Colorado, Denver, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Northern Colorado and Wyoming. CSU's fall schedule then features events hosted by Colorado, New Mexico, New Mexico State and UNLV.

In the spring, the team will compete in tournaments hosted by BYU, Fresno State and UNLV while co-hosting the MountainView Collegiate with the University of Colorado in Tucson, Ariz., March 25-26. The Rams will play in the 2006 Mountain West Conference Championship in St. George, Utah on April 20-22 prior to the NCAA Regional Championships on May 11-13.

"I look forward to the 2005-2006 season," commented Hopkins. "With five freshmen, two sophomores and one transfer junior it will definitely be a time of new experiences. However, I believe this group has the talent to continue on with the success of the CSU women's golf program."

Last season, Hopkins received the Mountain West's Co-Coach of the Year award and guided the Rams to their highest NCAA Regional finish (15th) in the program's history. CSU returns two players from last year's squad and will welcome one junior transfer and five incoming freshmen to the roster in 2005-06.
