TCU cracks the top 10 at NCAA Championship Matranga fourth individually
May 24, 2007 DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- TCU shot a 12-over-par 300 to move into ninth place, while Horned Frog senior Catherine Matranga is fourth individually, after Thursday's third round of the NCAA Women's Golf National Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Frogs tied for the sixth-best score on the day and are only four shots out of the top four. TCU is at 906 with Georgia fourth at 902. Duke leads with an 880, eight strokes ahead of Purdue and 16 in front of TCU. Matranga shot a 2-over-par 74 and is at 1-over 217 after 54 holes. She was even over the final 11 holes Thursday. The senior from Fort Worth is seven strokes behind leader Christel Boeljon of Purdue. Matranga's two birdies on the day came on holes one and 18. Fellow TCU senior Camille Blackerby also shot a 74, including three birdies. Blackerby was 2-under through the first 12 holes. Elin Emanuelsson and Valentine Derrey carded a 75 and 77, respectively.
