LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming Athletics Director Gary Barta announced today that head women's golf coach Jill Rettinger has resigned from her position to pursue other opportunities.

Rettinger had served as the Cowgirl Golf head coach for the past eight seasons. She was hired at Wyoming on May 21, 1997, and is a native of Butte, Mont.

"We appreciate everything Jill has meant to our women's golf program," stated Barta. "She produced some outstanding student-athletes both on and off the golf course.

"I know the young women who competed for her had a wonderful experience. We wish her and her family the best as she pursues other opportunities."

During her stint at Wyoming, Rettinger coached 2000 Mountain West Conference Champion and current LPGA Tour member Jordan (Lintz) Cherebetiu, as well as six Academic All-Americans and a Rhodes Scholar.
