COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU freshman Natalie Newren was named Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for April after leading the Cougars to their best tournament finish of the spring and carding her best performance of the year. BYU placed fourth out of 22 teams at its own BYU Dixie Classic held in St. George, Utah, April 8-9. Newren posted her highest finish of the year as she tied for eighth out of 119 competitors after shooting a career-best, eight-over 224 (74-78-72) during the 54-hole tournament. Her final round score of 72 also tied a her personal low for a single round. Newren has been the highest Cougar finisher in the past two tournaments and enters the MWC Championship rated tied for 11th with a 77.4 stroke average.
