Women's Golfer of Month for April

New Mexico's Choy honored

April 14, 2008

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - New Mexico sophomore Britney Choy has been selected the Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for April.

Choy, a Wahiawa, Hawaii, native, earned her first honor this year after finishing with a career-low 54-hole total of 218 at the PING/ASU Invitational, April 4-6. She shot a career-low 70 in the first round to finish at 2-over-par at the 6,230-yard Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz. Her 218 total (70-74-74) was good enough to tie for 11th place in a field that welcomed five top-10 programs, including No. 1 UCLA, No. 3 Southern California, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 7 Georgia and No. 8 Oklahoma State.

Choy currently ranks seventh in the MWC in stroke average (75.55).
