MWC Women's Golfer of the Month UNLV's Oh captures honor.
April 14, 2004 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV sophomore Sunny Oh was named Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for April. Oh won the BYU Dixie Classic at the Entrada at Snow Canyon Course in St. George, Utah, by three strokes over teammate Seema Sadekar. She shot a 54-hole total of one-under 215 on the par 72, 6,230 yard course. She carded a season-low 70 in her opening round, followed by rounds of 72 and 73 to cap her second career victory. En route to the individual title, Oh led the Rebels to their second team victory of the year and the largest in school history as UNLV defeated San Francisco by 27 strokes. Oh led a team effort in which the Rebels broke two school records on the final day of play. As a team, UNLV shot 289 in the final round, breaking the existing school record of 291 shot four times prior, including the second round of the same tournament. The team total of 876 for the tournament was three shots better than the 879 the Rebels carded at the Spartan Invitational earlier this year. For the season, Oh leads the Rebels with a 74.33 scoring average and ranks third in the MWC. Her play at the Dixie Classic marked her fifth top-10 and third top-five finishes of the year.
