New Mexico's Webb Named McLeodUSA MWC Women's Golfer of the Week

Junior earns honor for second consecutive week. (4/13)

UNM junior Ryley Webb is the McLeodUSA Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Week. This is the first time that an individual or a school has captured the weekly women's golf honor in consecutive weeks.

New Mexico placed third (291-295-303=889) at the Ping/ASU Invitational held at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz, April 7-9. All 15 teams competing in the tournament field were ranked in the Top 40 according to the March 15th addition of the Mastercard Collegiate Women's Golf Rankings. The Lobos are currently ranked No. 15 in the nation and finished ahead of five higher-ranked teams.

Webb, from Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada, tied for 11th place (85 participants) by shooting a three-round total of 221 (74-72-75).

The Ping/ASU Invitational entertained 13 of the top 25 women's golfers in the country according to the Golfstat Cup Rankings as of April 4th. Webb is ranked No. 35 in the nation as an individual according to the same Golfstat rankings and placed higher than seven of those 13 individuals. This was the third time this season that Webb has been the top finisher for the Lobos.
