MWC Women's Golfer Of The Month For April UNLV's Seema Sadekar earns this month's honors.
April 11, 2006 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV junior Seema Sadekar has been selected the Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for April. It marks the first monthly honor for Sadekar this season. The Stouffville, Ontario, native won her first career tournament, earning medalist honors at the BYU Dixie Classic with a 223 (70-77-76, +7) in helping UNLV win its fourth-straight classic. Sadekar was the first-round leader after she opened with a two-under 70 and then played steady golf the rest of the tournament to win the title. The past two years at the BYU Dixie Classic, she has finished second. Sadekar finished tied for 27th at the PING/ASU Invitational (March 31-April 2), carding a three-round total of 225 (74-79-72, +9) in helping the Rebels finished tied for sixth. For the season, Sadekar ranks fourth in the MWC in stroke average with a 74.78 per round average.
