COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State junior Shayna Miyajima was named Mountain West Conference Women's Golfer of the Month after leading the Aztecs to three top five finishes to begin the spring season. Miyajima recorded a personal best back-to-back second place finishes at the Lady Aztec Invitational in San Marcos, Calif., and the Oregon Duck Invitational in Junction City, Ore., while placing tied for 13th at the Mountian View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz.

At the Lady Aztec Invitational, SDSU tied for third, led by Miyajima who shot a five-over 149 (72-77) to finish tied for second among the field of 78 individuals. The Aztecs followed that performance by finishing second at the Oregon Duck Invitational and once again were led by Miyajima who placed second after firing a seven-over 223 (73-72-78) over 54 holes. In SDSU's last outing at the Mountain View Collegiate the Aztecs placed fouth, while Miyajima finished tied for 13th. Her one-under 71 in the first round matched a career-low before completing the three rounds with an eight-over 224 (71-76-77).

Miyajima currently leads SDSU and ranks sixth in the MWC with a 76.5 stroke average over 22 rounds.
