The Colorado State University women's golf team shot a final-round 299 to move into ninth place in the San Jose State Spartan Invitational at Corral de Tierra Country Club in Salinas, Calif. The Rams finished with a three-day total of 909 after first and second-round scores of 308 and 302. The tournament field consisted of 15 teams.

Senior Kristen Campos led the Rams, shooting a five-over-par 221. After a rough start with a first-round 78, Campos responded with rounds of 72 and 71. She tied for fifteenth in the individual standings.

CSU freshman Chelsea Benton finished with a three-round total of 223 after a final-round 74. Her total for the event ranked in a tie for 18th overall.

Seniors Trisha Quick (235), Margaret Garehime (237) and Lynette Duran (238) rounded out the Rams' scoring for the tournament. Quick finished in 54th place while Garehime finished in a tie for 57th and Duran came in at 61st.

UCLA claimed the team title with a 16-over 868 while Cal's Sofie Andersson claimed individual honors with a seven-under 206.

Up Next...
The Rams travel to Coto de Caza Country Club South Course in Coto de Caza, Calif. for the Anteater Invitational, hosted by UC Irvine March 15 and 16. The tournament field will consist of ten teams, including CSU, Boise State, Cal State Northridge, UC Irvine, Colorado, Grand Valley State, Long Beach State, Monmouth, Princeton, and Southwest Missouri State.

The Rams competed last year at the Anteater Invitational, where they recorded a three-round 945 (+81) en route to an eighth-place finish. Of the returning Rams, Kristen Campos and Lynette Duran led the teams, tying for 52 with scores of 242 (+21).

Notworthy...
Trisha Quick passed Lynette Duran as the Rams scoring average leader. Kristen Campos' third-round 71 was her lowest score of the season.
