UNLV junior Elena Kurokawa started the spring season with two top-25 finishes, including an eighth-place showing at the Wildcat Invitational held at the Arizona National G.C., in Tucson, Ariz. The tournament featured seven of the nation's top-20 teams. Kurokawa fired a season-low three-under 68 in the second round before carding a three-round total of four-over 217 (73-68-76) to earn her fifth top-10 finish of her career. In her opening tournament of the spring, Kurokawa finished tied for 21st after shooting a 54-hole total of 227 (75-74-78) at the prestigious Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes G.C., in Palos Verdes, Calif.
