FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's golf team opens its spring season Monday at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif.

The 54-hole event will take place at the par 71, 5,912-yard Palos Verdes Golf Club. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.

No. 1 UCLA is among five top-10 teams and a total of 11 top-20 programs in the 15-team field.

The 33rd-ranked Horned Frogs will be playing in the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge for the second time in three years. TCU tied for 11th in 2008 with Valentine Derrey placing ninth individually with a 6-over-par 219.

The Horned Frogs' five-player lineup for this year's event will include Derrey, Melissa Loh, Rachel Raastad, Brooke Beeler and Allyson Ferguson.

TCU posted top-10 finishes in four of its five fall tournaments. Derrey and Beeler were the lone Frogs to play in each tournament.

Raastad led TCU with a 75.0 stroke average in the fall, including a second-place finish in the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship. She was fourth at the Dick McGuire Invitational.

Beeler and Derrey were second with 75.1 marks in the fall season.

Loh closed the fall with a career-best fourth-place finish as she led TCU with a 2-over-par 218 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
