ALBUQUERQUE - University of New Mexico women¹s golf head coach Jackie Booth was recently named the 2000 LPGA Central Section Coach of the Year as presented by Spaulding.

Booth, in her fourth year at the helm of the New Mexico women's golf program has captured this award three times, twice while at UNM.

Last season Booth helped lead the Lobos to the inaugural Mountain West Conference Championship title, coached the MWC co-woman's golfer of the year, two NCAA All-Americans (second team and honorable mention), two all-conference athletes, three National Golf Coaches Association Scholar Athletes and three all-conference scholar athletes.

Booth's season record in 1999-2000 includes six top-5 finishes in 10 tournaments including one title (MWC Championship), a second-place (Dick McGuire) and a third place (Ping/ASU) finish. Not only does Booth continue to push the Lobos to pursue their goals, but helps develop their talents off the course as well.

For her efforts Booth was named 1998 LPGA National Coach of the Year as presented by Spaulding. Booth has in her three-years at UNM, taken the team to the 1998 NCAA Women's Golf Championships and participated in the NCAA West Regionals every year.
