Stanford, Calif. - The University of New Mexico improved one spot to sixth place after the second round of the Stanford Pepsi Invitational being held in Stanford, Calif. The Lobos shot a second round 294, shaving off 13 strokes off their first round 307, for a tournament score of 601. Leading the tournament is the University of Washington with a 589, two strokes better than Cal (591). Rounding out the top-five includes Vanderbilt (595), first round leader UCLA (596) and Georgia at 599. Final round will be played tomorrow at the Stanford Golf Course which plays to a par 72 on 6,218 yards.

Leading the tournament individually is Arizona's Erica Blasberg with a two-round score of 142 (-2). New Mexico's Kailin Downs is tied for ninth place with a 147 (75-72 * +3).

UNM's Katrina Leckovic shot a second round 70 (-2), which is a career low for the junior. Leckovic is tied for 12th place with a 148 (78-70 * +4) heading into the final round. Sophomore Christina Spence is tied for 20th place with a two round score of 151 (+7 * 75-76) while fellow sophomore Shannon Johnson sits tied for 44th with a 155 (+11 * 79-76). Junior Kellyn Newman is in 85th place with a 169 (+25 * 83-86).

The final round will begin tomorrow morning at 8:30 with shotgun start.
