TCU Women's Golf Finishes 11th at NCAA Championship BYU tied for 17th and New Mexico finished at 22nd.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- TCU shot a final-round 21-over-par 309 Friday to finish 11th at the 2007 NCAA Women's Golf National Championship.BYU tied for 17th at 1,236, while New Mexico carded a 1,254 to finish at 22nd. The Horned Frogs posted their highest finish at the NCAA Championship since winning the 1983 national title. The Frogs were playing in their ninth overall NCAA Championship and first since 2000. Duke won its third consecutive NCAA Championship with a 15-stroke margin over runner-up Purdue. TCU was just one shot behind 10th place Louisville. Stacy Lewis of Arkansas, competing on her own as an individual, took medalist honors. Her final-round 66 gave her a four-shot victory over Purdue's Christel Boeljon and USC's Paola Moreno. Catherine Matranga was the top TCU individual, placing in a tie for 11th with a 9-over-par 297. The senior from Fort Worth recorded TCU's best finish by an individual at the NCAA Championship since Rita Moore was fourth and Marci Bozarth tied for fifth in 1983. Elin Emanuelsson posted TCU's low score on the day with a 1-over 73. The senior from Nacka, Sweden, tied for 34th overall with a 15-over 303. Matranga and fellow senior Camille Blackerby closed their careers ranking first and second, respectively, in most rounds played at TCU. Blackerby took part in 150 with Matranga at 147. Emanuelsson is fourth with 129. Matranga and Blackerby also set a new TCU single-season record with 40 rounds each in 2006-07. Matranga (75.7) and Blackerby (75.8) finish fourth and fifth, respectively, in career stroke average at TCU. Emanuelsson (77.9) is 13th. Team Scores
