OPELIKA, Ala. - The No. 14 UNLV women's golf team shot its best round in the final round, carding a team 295 to conclude play at the NCAA Championship.

The Rebels finished 72-hole play at 52-over par and sit in 21st place overall. That position should hold, although a lightning delay of more than three hours has left 12 teams on the course.

"I asked the team to try to give their best round of the tournament and to have fun with it, and that's what they did," head coach Missy Ringler said.

Sophomore Sunny Oh posted the highest finish of the squad. Oh shot 75 in her final round to finish at six-over par.

The Rebels' best round of the day came from freshman Seema Sadekar. Sadekar shot an even par 72 and finished 20-over par.

Also figuring into the team total were a 73 from Young Pak and a 75 from Elena Kurokawa. Hwanhee Lee carded a 76.

The Rebels complete their third season of play. Most of the squad will attempt to qualify for the U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur Public Links in the coming weeks.

"I am really proud of what we accomplished this season," Ringler added. "We accomplished every goal that we set, winning conference, winning some tournaments on the way, qualifying for the Regional and advancing to nationals. It was a great season and it's tough to see it end."
