Women's Golf 15th After First Round Of NCAA Regional Championships Three Aztecs tied at 43rd

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The San Diego State women's golf team is tied for 15th with a 310 after the first round of the NCAA East Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C., today at the par 72, 6-211-yard Finley Golf Course.
The Aztecs are tied at 22-over-par (310) with North Carolina, just six strokes behind Louisville which sits in the crucial eighth qualifying position. No. 1 Duke leads the field with a 286, eight ahead of No. 5 Auburn in second (294). The top eight teams and top two individuals advance to the NCAA Championships to be played May 23-26 at the Mission Inn Resort in Howie-in-the-Hill, Fla.
SDSU is led by junior Heather Rollo, sophomore Jennifer Hoene and freshman Sandy Kim, who all shot a 77 and are in 43rd. Senior Jo Clingan turned in the next best Aztecs finish in 65th with a 79. Virada Nirapathpongporn of Duke leads the individuals with a 65.
The second round will begin at 7:30 a.m. (EST) on Friday, with the final 18 holes being played Saturday.
