UNLV Holds Slim Lead Heading Into Final Round Of The 2004 Mountain West Conference Women's Golf Championship BYU junior Margaret Gibby moved into the leader spot with her second.

BEND, Ore. - UNLV maintained a one-stroke lead over New Mexico after the second round of the 2004 Mountain West Conference Women's Golf Championship played on the Meadows Course (Par 71/5,851) at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. The Lobos shot a team low 290 today, followed by the Rebels one stroke back at 291. Overall, UNLV has a team total of 580, followed by New Mexico's 581 entering the final 18 holes of the championship. BYU moved into third place with a second round total of 295 and a 36-hole score of 592. San Diego State sits in fourth place, one stroke behind the Cougars at 593. Colorado State is fifth with a team total of 596, followed by Wyoming at 659. BYU junior Margaret Gibby moved into the leader spot with her second straight round of 70 (one-under par). Her 36-hole total of two-under 140 is two strokes ahead of 2003 MWC champion Katrina Leckovic and Shannon Johnson, both of New Mexico, whom are tied for second with an even 142 apiece. The final round will begin Saturday at 10 a.m.
