San Diego State Leads After Second Round Of MWC Women's Golf Championship CSU's Duran holds individual lead.

SUNRIVER, Ore. - San Diego State University carded a second round 298 and took over the team lead at the 2002 Mountain West Conference Women's Golf Championship being played on the Meadows Course (Par 71/6,180) at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. The Aztecs trailed two-time defending champion New Mexico by two strokes (298-296) heading into the second day of the tournament, but outshot the Lobos by seven strokes (298-305) and will begin the final round with a three-stroke advantage over Colorado State who is currently second at 597. New Mexico is in third with a 36-hole total of 598, followed by UNLV (608), BYU (312) and Wyoming (648). Colorado State freshman Lynette Duran forged into the individual lead with a one-under 70 today and has an even par 36-hole total of 142. Sophomore Shayna Miyajima of San Diego State remains in second with a two-over 144 (71-73), followed by teammate Heather Rollo in third with a three-over 145 (73-72). The third and final round of play will begin at 9 a.m. (PT) Wednesday morning.
