SUNRIVER, Ore. - The Mountain West Conference Women's Golf Championship began today on the Meadows Course (Par 71/5,851) at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. New Mexico leads after the first day with a nine-over 293. The Lobos have a seven-stroke lead over San Diego State, who is currently in second place with a score of 300 (+16). Colorado State is in third with a team total of 302 (+18), followed by BYU in fourth (311) and Wyoming (317) in fifth.

Individually, there is a three-way tie for first place with Colorado State sophomore Mayumi Motoyama (35-36) and New Mexico seniors Elisa Kase (35-36) and Ryley Webb (36-35) all shooting an even par 71.

The second round of play will begin at 9 a.m. (PST) Tuesday morning, with the final 18 holes being played Wednesday beginning at 8 a.m.
