TCU Captures 2007 MWC Women's Golf Championship

Led by three seniors, TCU carded a final round 297 and 54-hole total of 903.

St. George, Utah - TCU claimed the top spot at the 2007 Mountain West Conference Golf Championship at Entrada at Snow Canyon in St. George, Utah. The win marked the Horned Frogs first MWC Women's Golf Championship title.

Led by three seniors, TCU carded a final round 297 and 54-hole total of 903. BYU finished with a final round 304 for a 904 total to earn second place honors. New Mexico shot 308 on the last day and 926 for the championship, placing them third in the seven-team field. UNLV was fourth with a score of 948 followed by Colorado State fifth (949), San Diego State sixth (956) and Wyoming seventh (957).

Jodi Ewart of New Mexico captured the individual title after firing a final round one-over-par 72 giving her a championship total of seven-over 220. TCU's Valentine Derrey finished one stroke behind Ewart, carding a championship total of eight-over 221. BYU's Rachel Newren rounded out the medalist honors, earning the third sport with a 10-over 223.
