New Mexico Holds Nine-Stroke Lead Over TCU After Second Round of 2009 Mountain West Conference Women's Golf Championship

New Mexico remains atop the leader board at the 2009 Mountain West Conference Women's Golf Championship at the Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside, Calif. The Lobos carded a second day 297 and have a two-day total of 598 (+22). TCU pulled ahead for sole possession of second place, firing a 302 for round two, bringing the Horned Frogs to 607 (+31) for the championship.

BYU stands in third after carding a second round 313, moving the team to 618 (+42) for the tournament. UNLV is currently in fourth and has a 36-hole team score of 620. Colorado State is fifth (621) followed by Wyoming (626) and San Diego State (627) in sixth and seventh place, respectively.

Individually, Wyoming's Jonelle Martinez held on to first place, shooting a second round three-over 75 for a 36-hole total of one-over 145. New Mexico's Jodi Ewart, last year's MWC Tournament champion, sits two strokes back of Martinez at 147 (+3).
