COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Four members of the University of Utah women's basketball team earned the Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete award and nine were named to the MWC Spring Academic All-Conference Team.

Janita Badon, Josi McDermott, Hannah Stephens and Deanne Stevenson all earned MWC Scholar-Athlete honors. To be considered for the scholar-athlete award, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.

Katie King, Cydney Knight, Mandy Munns, Morgan Warburton and Kalee Whipple joined Badon, McDermott, Stephens and Stevenson on the academic all-conference team for the spring semester.

In all, Utah had 88 student-athletes recognized on the Spring Academic All-MWC team. The spring team included baseball, softball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's golf, men's swimming and diving, women's swimming and diving and women's track and field.

To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
